Small Projections
In the Small Projection series, Nicole Cohen layers videos of short performances onto still images of interiors, including vintage magazine pages, department store flyers, advertising postcards and photographs of historical furniture. The surreal scenarios offer a voyeuristic glimpse into intimate spaces, where participants are superimposed onto idealistic settings from the past as they act out expectations of these spaces while blurring lines between past and present, reality and fantasy.
